Downtown Cancun

This beautiful city offers us an incredible number of entertainment activities for all tastes and budgets, both in the downtown area and its surroundings.

We have prepared a list with some recommendations of places you can visit during your stay at your little Caribbean hotel.

Parque de las Palapas

It's the traditional city square with a bohemian atmosphere, accompanied by a local church and two hippie-style theme parks.

During the day, you can try a variety of typical Mexican food at stands or international cuisine at nearby restaurants.

In the evenings, craft and Mexican jewelry shops open their doors, as well as stalls selling typical snacks: corn on the cob, tamales, marquesitas, ice cream, taco stands, among others. On weekends, you can enjoy local cultural events or live music.

Mercado 28

It's the city's first market, currently housing many establishments where you can purchase crafts from all over Mexico, a variety of jewelry (gold, silver, stones, and seashells), and souvenirs to take home a memory or give as a gift.

In the center of the market, there are Mexican food restaurants and seafood stalls.

Plaza las Américas

This is the best shopping center in town, featuring department stores, cinemas with regular and VIP theaters, jewelry stores, perfumeries, clothing and shoe stores, restaurants, bars, cafes, appliances, and more, always at the best prices.

Plaza de Toros

Diagonally across from Plaza las Américas is the bullring, mainly known for concerts by renowned artists and bullfights, which are part of Mexican tradition. Its surroundings are made up of taco stands, bars, taverns, and Mexican-style snack bars.

Avenida Yaxchilán

This avenue comes alive at night, mainly aimed at locals, where you'll find everything from taco stands to Mexican cuisine, from rock music to mariachis, and from bars with board games to clubs with salsa or northern music to dance all night.
